Ignite is an exciting pilot scheme to invest in the next steps in the creative development of a young person in Lancashire and Blackpool, a potential future creative leader!

Ignite – The Alternative Saturday Job, aims to enable a young person aged 16 – 19 years to gain valuable paid experience working within the arts sector in a role tailored to their needs, interests and aspirations. As the title suggests, this will be a paid role up to 7 hrs per week at £5 per hour for a 9-month pilot period until Sept 2012. We have a mixture of interests represented and young people who have been appointed and nominated for these posts. All of whom are ready to take the next step to progress towards a career in the creative sector.

Why?

In the current climate of high youth unemployment this programme aims to help young people gain a small income and also gain valuable on the job training with support from experienced cultural organisations.
